Matthew White trained at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. Recent West End acting credits include: Ragtime (Picadilly - Olivier nomination); Cinderella (Old Vic); The Phantom Of The Opera (Her Majesty’s); Chicago (Adelphi); Die Fledermaus (Arts); Kiss of the Spiderwoman (Shaftesbury); Les Miserables (Palace); Children Of Eden (Prince Edward). Other productions include Passion (Bridewell); The Glee Club (New Vic, Stoke); Moby Dick (Greenwich); Oklahoma! (Liverpool Playhouse); The Card (Watermill); Merrily We Roll Along (Haymarket, Leicester); The Wizard Of Oz (Clwyd). Television includes: Dr Who; Judge John Deed; Heatwave (all for the BBC); The Big Battalions (Channel 4); Harry Hill; The Many (both for ITV). Film includes A Christmas Carol (Hallmark/CBS).

Matthew is also a theatre director. His recent West End production of Little Shop Of Horrors (Duke of York’s) was nominated for three 2008 Olivier awards.
